ItsAutastic was created from a deeply personal place — a desire to build moments of joy, connection, and inclusion for families like ours.

We are Gerard and Melica Peters, proud parents of identical twin girls, Eliora and Eliana. When Eliana was diagnosed with autism at two years old, our world shifted. We suddenly found ourselves raising twins who lived in wonderfully different ways but in two very different worlds. Finding places where both girls could thrive together was often challenging, and many family outings left us feeling divided — one child comfortable, while the other was overwhelmed.

One thing Eliana loved was going to the movies. But keeping her quiet in a traditional theater setting was stressful and limiting. So one summer, we decided to create our own solution. We rented a private theater, invited other families with autistic children, and hosted a relaxed, judgment-free family movie afternoon. The smiles, the relief, and the sense of community were overwhelming — and It’sAutastic was born.

Our mission is simple: to create supportive spaces, meaningful activities, and inclusive experiences where all children — autistic and neurotypical — can enjoy life together. Inclusion remains our ultimate goal, and we pursue it through any avenue we can — from hosting sensory-friendly events to creating educational tools, resources, and activities, to raising awareness in our community and beyond.

We’re excited to continue growing this community and funding more events that bring families together, making every day a little more Autastic.
